Biography:

John Rathnam is a highly experienced wealth manager with decades of financial industry experience. John obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. He spent the earlier part of his career at Freddie Mac in a variety of financial and managerial positions. While there, he succeeded in obtaining his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1999.

After leaving Freddie Mac, he received his Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University in 2003. He then spent the next seven years engaged in financial planning and wealth management at McLean Asset Management Corporation in McLean, VA. While there he greatly expanded his knowledge of private wealth management and built a solid client base.

In 2010, John recognized a great opportunity to assist business owners in navigating a challenging investment environment, so he established Rathnam Capital, an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor. In 2012, John achieved his Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation.
