Biography:
Ron has served as a merger & acquisition advisor and corporate valuation expert to more than 3,000 companies since 1984. He has 25+ years of specialized expertise in valuing and pricing companies for purchase or sale, initial public offerings, private placements, and recapitalizations. He has extensive experience in the valuation of intangible assets, including: patents, developed technology, software, databases, trademarks, trade names, licenses, contracts, backlogs, distribution rights, customer lists, leases, royalty agreements, franchises, debt instruments and non-compete agreements.

A former senior vice president and director of the Information Technology Practice for a publicly-held valuation firm, Ron was also New England Director of Valuation Services for Ernst & Young, Director of Corporate Development for a major information technology company, and CEO of a regional business valuation firm. Ron is a Certified Business Appraiser and a 20-year member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and the American Society of Appraisers. He has been qualified to testify as a business valuation expert in several states in regards to both corporate and divorce litigation.

His client list includes venture capital and private equity firms such as Wasserstein Ventures, Advent, Summit, Matrix Partners, Greylock Partners, Sequoia and TA Associates. Recently, as Project Director on a 5-year contract with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), he performed or directed the valuation of over a thousand private equity and venture capital investments in the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) Program. The SBIC Program focuses primarily on the information technology and healthcare/life sciences industries, but also includes leisure/hospitality and business and consumer services.
