Biography:
Ted Davidson is the Chief Experience Officer at SPARDATA Value Advisors, a business valuation firm in Elkridge, Maryland. He is an Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) through the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. His father created the firm over twenty years ago and Ted joined the firm in 2009. As Chief Experience Officer Ted has implemented a range of programs centered around on creating a “Wow” experience for the business owners and advisors with whom SPARDATA works.
Ted’s connection to the Business Exit Forum is a personal one, as he and his father now navigate their own exit and succession plan within SPARDATA. They know firsthand how critical it is to have a core group of trusted advisors to lead them through the process. Finding the right way for a business owner to transition out of their business is a tremendous challenge. But Ted would not want to dedicate himself to a worthier cause.
Apart from the BEF, Ted is deeply involved with other key peer groups in and related to his industry. He is an active member of the Association for Accounting Marketing, the Marketing Director’s Support Group, and the Thriveal CPA Network. He is also a dedicated Toastmaster. On the weekends you can find him on the golf course, tennis courts, or running in local road races. His mood is often tied directly to the performance of his two favorite sports teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins.

Closing the Personal Value Gap
For the best personal outcome, owners must identify and bridge the gap between corporate value when they first contemplate an exit and value when the actual transaction takes place—not to mention after the sale. The time to dig a well is before you get thirsty, but in the midst of transferring the company’s ownership, personal planning often gets delayed or lost—a dangerous omission. The panel will examine case studies and share the real-world experiences of business owners and their heirs in the post-sale years.
